Get a Multiple Entry Korean Visa using your BPI Credit Card

Updated: Mar 21, 2019

I would like to share with you in writing on how to apply using your qualified BPI credit card or debit card and get a multiple-entry Korean Visa without submitting any income documents (Income Tax Return or bank certificate. By the way, this is my second time applying for a Korean Visa and I am hoping to get approved for a multiple-entry visa this time. I sent my documents last March 16, 2019.

First thing that you need to do is to check any updates from Korean Embassy of the Philippines and also the banks (BPI or BDO) who are advertising the promotion just to make sure that you are always up to date with the latest news and changes if any. You may also inquire from the accredited travel agencies and their travel partners if you have additional queries.

In addition, there are a lot of people nowadays who want to be spoon-fed without doing anything. We failed to remember the importance of reading first before asking. We tend to be dependent and we blame others if we couldn't get what we wanted immediately.

1. Check if your card is eligible for the promotion.

Promo period is from January 1 to December 31, 2019 only.

Qualified Card Types:

BPI Gold Mastercard BPI SkyMiles Platinum Mastercard BPI Amore Visa Platinum BPI Visa Signature Card BPI Gold Debit Card Note: Your account must be active and in good credit standing.

There will be a validity period depending on the type of credit card:

BPI Gold Mastercard > 3 Years BPI Platinum* Credit Card > 3-5 years BPI Visa Signature Card > 3-5 years BPI Gold Debit Card > 3-5 years

2. Prepare the required documents.

You are exempted to submit any income documents (Income Tax Return or bank certificate) when applying. Just prepare the required documents that include the following:

Korea Visa Photo (35mmx45mm)

3 months billing statement from BPI

Business Permits / Employment Certificate Photocopy of your card (front only)

Tips: Korean Embassy/Accredited Travel Agencies will require you to submit the hard copy of your billing statement from your bank. If you are enrolled in paperless billing, just print out the statement online and go to the nearest BPI branch and have it certified as a true copy. They will be in need of your physical card, valid government ID, printed billing statement. After providing the documents, they will require you to log-in on their computer to compare the documents that you have. Once verified, they will put a stamp on it and the branch manager will sign the documents.

3. Submit your documents.

Go to the nearest Korean Embassy's accredited travel agency and submit your paperwork at their office. Make sure to bring the original copy of the documents with you just in case they require you to present it at the time of application.

I prefer to send documents via LBC Express because they have a prepaid delivery service wherein you can pay the delivery from the receiver's address back to you. It's like paying it in advance. The receiver (agency) just need to go to any LBC branch and send it to your address. The tracking number for the return shipping is already included when you pay the service.

4. Pay the necessary fees.

There are different types of visa fees depending on the number of days you will be staying in South Korea. For regular tourism purposes (59 days or less), the maximum amount that they charge is up to P700 for the processing fee only. You have to shoulder the shipping fees when sending additional documents required by the embassy and when returning your passport back to your home address. However, they may require you to drop by at their office for verification purposes.

5. Wait for the result of your application.

Application process may take up to 10 working days.

First time travellers: 5-10 Working Days

Frequent travellers: (with visa on OECD countries): 3-5 working days

Please note that the embassy may require you to send other documents as part of their verification process. Furthermore, there are no guarantees if you will get approved or not. It will be the consul in charge from the embassy who will make the decision and not the travel agency.

Let us see if I will get approved for a single-entry or a multiple-entry visa going to South Korea. Make sure to subscribe on my newsletter so you will be updated with my future posts. Disclaimer: This is my story and not every one else's.❤️😉
