Foreigners who have stayed in selected countries/regions within 14 days prior to arrival will be denied entry into Japan. Please click here for the list of selected countries/ regions. Visa exemption measures with the countries and regions listed here are temporarily suspended.
From 14 January 2021, Japan has also suspended all Business Track and Residence Track arrangements with other countries until the State of Emergency in Japan is lifted.
Holders of valid visas already issued under the Business Track (or RGL) or Residence Track (except for those who have stayed in the United Kingdom or the Republic of South Africa within 14 days prior to submitting their application, and those who have stayed in any countries and regions which Japan has issued a Level 3 Travel Advice & Warning on Infectious Diseases within 14 days prior to their application) are permitted to enter Japan only until 20 January 2021, 10.59pm SGT.
All passengers who enter, re-enter or return to Japan (including Japanese nationals) are required to possess a certificate of negative result from a COVID-19 test conducted within 72 hours before their flight. This is in effect until the State of Emergency has been lifted and is applicable to all regardless of where they are arriving from and whether they are on the Business Track or Residence Track or not. All will also be subject to a COVID-19 test upon arrival and may be required to undergo quarantine arrangements.
