I recently traveled to Iloilo last November 6-8, 2018 and I stayed at Ong Bun Pension House in Iloilo City Proper. I would like to share my experience staying with them.
I booked a fan room for two nights a week before my stay since I have been waiting for Traveloka's hotel promos but I didn't get any notification from their mobile app so I decided to book it without any discount coupons. Book here!
They are located in the city proper on Ledesma St, Iloilo City. I like staying with them because their building is near the banks, drugstores, supermarkets, shopping mall, wet market, restaurants etc. Everything is only a short distance away from their establishment. Book here!
Check-in will only take 5 minutes as long as you have your valid ID ready and you are good at filling out forms. After verifying your reservation, you will be assisted by their staff and they will lead you to your room. My room was on the 5th floor but it's fine with me. It's a good exercise anyway. They don't have elevators so if you are traveling with your grandparents, parents or elderlies, you might want to inform them (hotel) in advance that you prefer to stay on a lower floor to avoid inconvenience, however, all rooms are always subject to availability so better to find a hotel that is suitable for your loved ones. It's a small fan room with one wall fan, a cable TV, desk and a chair, power outlet, cabinet, 2 pillows, and one towel. I suggest to bring your own towel or buy one at a supermarket. The towel that they gave me was kind of tattered already. I am not sure if they provide the same towels for air-con room guests. Again, this is based on my experience or you can just ask the receptionist to replace it with an acceptable one. Book here!
They have a water dispenser on the second floor near the reception area. Just bring your own water bottle and refill it. You can definitely save money!
There are telephones on each floor that you can use if you wish to order something from their own restaurant and deliver it directly to your room. Book here!
In addition, you have to share the shower room, toilet and sink with other guests. They have a good water supply, clean comfort rooms and every toilet has its own bidet. Book here!
To finish my review, I am satisfied staying at Ong Bun Pension House. You will get what you paid for and I definitely recommend this hotel for budget/solo travellers.
